In early summer 2022, Disney World Golf formally unveiled plans to reimagine Disney's Magnolia Golf Course. A centerpiece of this effort involved completely redesigning the practice putting green near the Disney's Magnolia, Palm, and Oak Trail clubhouse.
The new facility, titled "The Greatest Green Ever Played," draws inspiration from amateur golfer Francis Ouimet's 1913 U.S. Open victory at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, which was chronicled in the 2005 Disney film "The Greatest Game Ever Played."
Unlike traditional flat practice greens, this 18-hole putting course features graded terrain with elevation changes designed to provide a challenging, realistic putting experience. The Bermuda grass surface demands the right combination of skill and luck as you navigate the course's layout.
The putting course welcomes all golfers with their own putters and balls -- no reservation needed. Scorecards and pencils are available at the start, enabling friendly competition among guests. Hole locations change weekly, while daily adjustments to starting positions modify hole lengths and difficulty levels, providing continuous challenges.
